Disk space is the amount of space you have available for you to store your data. For example, you might have a small closet that you can only fit 12 jackets in. If you were measuring your closet space’s disk space in jackets – which would be rather odd – then your disk space would be “12 jackets”. In web site hosting, your data is stored on a hard drive. Like with your computer, the web hosting server’s hard drive only has so much space – and your web host will tell you how much space they are providing to you.
